Woah! What a night for showbiz! As much as we love the glitzy, American award shows like the Golden Globes and the Oscars, we have to admit that we prefer our homegrown ceremonies like the National Television Awards. This is largely because we can relate to the outfits worn by our favourite TV stars, and let's face it, this year the celebs were out to wow!
We gasped with delight at Holly Willoughby's beautiful dress. She really looked amazing (as per, we should add) in a black a-line gown with crystal waist band.
From one pregnant lady to another. Another fave was Myleene Klass, who dazzled in a lemon, grecian style dress with diamante shoulder detailing. This was partnered with a gorgeous, glitzy hairband and sultry red lips.
We couldn't help but notice there were a fair few grecian dresses on the red carpet last night. We loved Tess Daly's sweeping, blush, maxi dress. An Alberta Ferretti grecian gown, she looked totally stunning!
Lisa Faulkner looked amazing, rocking the 70s trend, with a vintage gown from My Vintage. The pink dress complete with gorgeous pleated skirt, looked fantastic on Lisa and left us with serious dress envy!
Our all-round fave, though, was Davina McCall, who wowed in a gorgeous green gown (taking a few tips from Angelina Jolie, we presume!). We absolutely adore jewel bright dresses, but this one, with its cut-out shoulders and high-waist really ticked all the right boxes. We'd never be able to get away with a dress so tight, but for Davina, it worked!

Regal Jewellery - S/S 2011
Our second S/S range is Regal Jewellery. Make like royalty this Spring and dazzle in opulent, awe-inspiring jewels and cameos. This collection might have been inspired by a certain royal wedding just around the corner, but here at Chelsea Doll, we've never really needed an excuse to wear decadent, eye-catching jewellery! Here's a highlight of some of our faves from the collection.
We love this Jewel Lattice Ring. Such an unusual design and so in-keeping with the current 70s' trend, it really does let your hand do the talking! Priced at a wallet-happy £8, we think it's a brilliant way to make a statement.
Our Multi-Colour Stone Bib Necklace is just the piece to brighten up a white t-shirt. With a vast array of colourful, mis-shaped stones, we can't stop looking at it! A definite hit for this season's neon trend too and at just £12, an investment piece.

This Blue Jewel Treasure Locket is gorgeous in antique gold, decorated with blue crystals (there's a pink one too!). It would look super with a chiffon shirt, to add a bit o' sparkle to a cool, understated look. It's priced at £12, so will definitely become a jewellery box fave!
So much crystal, and these Deco Crystal Circle Earrings, are definitely no exception! Everyone needs a pair of WOW earrings in their accessory collection. These are absolutely stunning and we think they should be teamed with an off-the-face hair do, to release their full potential! Priced at just £8, they're the perfect way to spruce up an existing outfit!

Golden Globe Style
Last night saw the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards. As the first award show of the season (don't ya just love this time of year!), we were keen to see what styles the fash pack would be sporting. On a side note, can we just say how elated we are that Colin Firth (The King's Speech) and Natalie Portman (Black Swan) took top honours.
Our favourite look of the night had to be Angelina Jolie's Atelier Versace, emerald green gown. Slinky, and in such a wow colour, it would be a difficult dress for many to pull off, but naturally Angelina does spectacularly. Catherine Zeta-Jones (Monique Lhuillier), Mila Kunis (Vera Wang) and Elisabeth Moss (Donna Karan) also opted for green.
Colour was definitely HOT last night, from Kyra Sedgwick's Emilio Pucci orange dress to January Jones' bright red Versace gown. We loved Heidi Klum's 70s' inspired Marc Jacobs gown, we think she worked the halterneck and scarf design particularly well.
Another firm favourite of the night was Anne Hathaway. She looked divine in a backless, sparkly, Armani Prive gown. Oh, how we'd love to be her right now. Ah-mazing!
And the fashion faux pas? Let's face it, there were a few. Lea Michelle in what can only be described as a pink bridesmaid dress, Helena Bonham-Carter with different colour shoes (yes, seriously!) and Tilda Swinton in a white shirt and lemon skirt combo (?).

Brit Award Nominations!
The Brit Award nominations were announced last week and we’re mega excited about this year’s ceremony. We cannot confirm if this is mainly because of the new trophy, exclusively designed by none other than fabulous British designer Vivienne Westwood. A brilliant collaboration between fashion and music’s finest.
As usual, there are so many brilliant performers up for awards, but we’ve compiled a list of the acts we’d most like to see take a Brit home. So, here we go:
British Male Solo Artist
Mark Ronson
British Female Solo Artist
This is a toughie between Ellie Goulding and Paloma Faith (LOVE her quirky style!)
British Breakthrough Act
Another difficult one, either Ellie Goulding or The XX
British Group
The XX
British Single
You’ve Got the Love – Florence and the Machine
Mastercard British Album of the Year
Sigh No More - Mumford & Sons
International Male Solo Artist
Cee Lo Green
International Female Solo Artist
Robyn
International Breakthrough Act
Temper Trap
International Group
Vampire Weekend
International Album
Katy Perry – Teenage Dream
You can watch The Brits on 15th February, 8pm on ITV1.

Ashish for Topshop
We have a feeling Ashish's latest collection for Topshop is gonna be something of a 'Marmite' collection. That is, you'll either absolutely love it, or hate it with a passion! The collection features tees and sweat tops emblazoned with fast (and rather tempting) food across the front. Definitely something to liven up otherwise boring everyday tees, we're immediately drawn to the bright images of the artificial colourings in the food. We're undecided what to think of the new collection, but we're positive that wearing it as Ashish suggests, to the gym, is sure to raise a few eyebrows!

Happy Friday!
Just a quick post to wish our readers, followers and customers a Happy Friday. Friday is our favourite day of the week (naturally), and an end to a week in January is definitely something to celebrate.
What we’ll be doing this weekend
1) Eating lots of Cadbury Koko chocolates. We’ve developed a bit of a choc-crush on these darlings, since eating them in large quantities over the festive period.
2) Exercising on the Wii. An excellent way to get fit and have fun with friends at the same time (oh and burn off all the Koko chocolates we've just eaten). Just try not to laugh when we do the hula-hoop exercise.
3) Reading. Part of our New Year resolution was to read more, and this weekend we intend to do just that. The only question is which book to immerse ourselves in!
4) Drinking cocktails with friends. Our fave, at the moment, has to be Purple Rain, a glorious concoction of grenadine, sweet and sour mix, vodka and blue curacao.
And, most importantly, we’ll be wearing this gorgeous Peacock Print Cabochon Necklace
What will you be up to? And what will you be wearing to do it? Have a fun weekend!

The Bridal Collection - NOW LIVE!
They say that good things come to those who wait and boy, does it feel like we've been waiting aaaaaaaages for our new S/S range to go live. But fear not, The Bridal Collection is now on the website and raring to go!
We've always loved bridal jewellery and accessories. They're so femimine and pretty, and manage to make a statement without being too OTT. Bridal jewellery and accessories play an incredibly important part, and often add the finishing touches to the bride's overall look. Realising this, we've scrutinised and only picked items that we absolutely adore and would *love* to wear for our big day.
The pieces within the collection each have a distinct vintage feel, going back to the 1920s - 1950s, a time when the glamour stakes were high. Our jewellery enables brides to co-ordinate their look, whether it be starlet or understated. Our fave pieces are pictured below.

Dream Wedding Dresses
We’re super excited here at Chelsea Doll HQ because we’ve got a very special new collection coming your way. It’s not a typical Chelsea Doll range, but we fell in love the minute we were introduced! We’re talking bridal jewellery and hair accessories. We’ll be unveiling the beautiful pieces from the range in the next few days, but first we thought we’d put together a post with all the gorgeous, dreamy wedding dresses we came across when undertaking our research!
This Temperley London embellished crepe-silk dress, available from Net-a-Porter, is a bohemian take on the traditional wedding dress, and has a distinct vintage feel.
We love how unusual this Justin Alexander dress is. In a lace material and mermaid shape, we think it's the perfect dress for the 2011 bride!
Our favourite dress, though, has to be this gorgeous, fairytale vintage 1950s dress from Love Miss Daisy. The length of the dress and net skirt add a vintage, princess touch. A unique and quirky choice for any bride.
What's your dream wedding dress? What style would you choose?
Now for a sneak peek of our fabulous new bridal collection. Take a look at the gorgeous Jolie Peacock Feather Bridal Hairband, available soon!

We Heart the 1970s!
This Spring sees the continuation of a trend decade that was revived last season – the wonderful 1970s'. Not witnessing the decade the first time around, it seems a privilege that we get to be a part of its fashion re-awakening today. When we think of 1970s' style, we conjure up images of Charlie’s Angels, Debbie Harry and Ali Macgraw, and with all the flared trousers, pussy-bow blouses, mid-length skirts and even turbans, these styles are easy to mimic. As the S/S 2011 pieces land online, we've taken a pick of our fave pieces.
Animal Print Swing Blouse, £45, Warehouse
Paprika Asymmetric Chiffon One Sleeve Dress, £28, ASOS
Black Pleated Turban, £12, Topshop

Paprika Asymmetric Chiffon One Sleeve Dress, £28, ASOS
Black Pleated Turban, £12, Topshop
Beige A-Line Chambray Skirt, £29.99, River Island
Rose Wide Leg Trouser, £40, Miss Selfridge
Our favourite 1970s' trend, though, has to be the jumpsuit. In our opinion the piece de resistance, it's so smart and easy-to-wear. We can't get enough of it! Check out this Rope Tie Jumpsuit, £45, from ASOS. Gorgeous!
